This sandstone boulder was ploughed up close to Old Downie farmsteading (NO53NW 45) in 1996; in February 1997, it was incorporated into a new garden wall of the farmhouse (NO 5193 3654). It measures 0.82m in length by 0.53m in breadth and 0.37m in thickness. A single cupmark on the present W face of the stone is surrounded by two incomplete rings measuring about 80mm and 140mm in internal diameter respectively.
