Formerly entered as NO04SW 14.
The house of the Dean of Dunkeld is the oldest house in the town, and the only one now standing of three that escaped the fire of 1689. Its walls are of great thickness.

This house, now known as Old Rectory House, is of no outstanding architectural value. see Illustration Card. It was remodelled to its present form in the early 18th c, and was the manse in 1823. (SDD 1963).

Dean's House is a 17th-century T-plan house which was remodelled to its present form in the early 18th century; it has two storeys, with five bays over a sunken basement, and there is a stair-turret to the rear. Internally, the only original feature seems to be an arched fireplace (chamfer-arrissed) at ground-floor level. It is said to have been the only house to survive the fire of 1689.
