Accommodation camp for service personnel based at Kirknewton airfield.

RAF Kirknewton Married Quarters are noted on 1:10,000 map (1983 edition), on W side of Kirknewton village, at NT 111 671.

The camp site was later used for a Prisoner-of-War camp.

The military camp is visible on RAF WW II vertical air photographs (NLA 71, 4010-4011, flown 9 September 1943).

The camp consists of up to 39 huts of varying sizes spread over three fields to the W of the airfield.

The main area of the camp has now had a small estate of new houses annotated 'Newlands' on the current OS digital 1:2500 scale map, built on it.
