Burial, recorded by Curle in 1935 as a boat burial in the area above the beach approx. 220m W of Huna Hotel (as then was). Included fragments of timber, rivets, chain and metal objects. 1980 no trace.

C E Batey, Caithness Coastal Survey, 1980

An indistinct mound.

Visited by OS 7 May 1982

This site was originally recorded on the OS index card with the Caithness Coastal Survey (Batey 1980) text for CAN 036. This is incorrect, but has been updated on this text page only to CAN 034.

ND37SE 17 has also been ascribed the description above. Although this is unlikely to be true it cannot be removed until further evidence of identity is available to NMRS.
