2.00: 662 347: Township

(NC 664 349) Tumuli (NR)

OS 6"map, Sutherland, 2nd ed., (1906)

Field clearance heaps covering an area of about 80m NW-SE by 30m NE-SW. RCAHMS, in 1909, noted a long, low heap of stones in this area, but it was not identified during field investigation. It was described as being about 1 1/2' high, 38' N-S and 5' broad except at the north and south ends where it was 7' and 10' broad respectively (RCAHMS 1911). This also was probably a clearance heap.

RCAHMS 1911, visited 1909; Visited by OS (E G C) 13 May 1961.

These are clearance heaps situated alongside run-rig cultivation

within the confines of Coirenamfeuran deserted township (see NC63SE 2), and are probably contemporary with it.

Visited by OS (N K B) 1 April 1977.
