The ruins of this building, at one time the house of the Wilsontown Ironworks manager (information from William Smith, Forth) stand to the SSE of Quality Row (NS95SE 11.04) on the E side of the modern path through the works. It measures 11.9m NNW-SSE by 5.6m transversely over walls 0.6m in thickness and up to 1.2m in height. It is divided into two compartments and there is a fireplace in the NNW end. It is depicted on an 1826 map of the Wilsontown Estate (National Library of Scotland, Map Library, ref.no. EMS.P.166) and remained roofed at least until the 2nd edition of the OS 25-inch map (Lanarkshire 1897, sheet xx.2).
