This farmstead is situated beside the Military Road (MR 16). It comprises three faced-rubble buildings set around a courtyard to the SSE side of the road, with a further building lying parallel to the NNW side of the road. The largest of the buildings (Braan93 344) around the courtyard measures 17.8m by 4.6m internally and has been incorporated in a later sheepfold. A horse-engine platform 6.3m in diameter lies on the NNW side of this building. The courtyard is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Perthshire 1867, sheet lxi), showing the largest building as roofed and only the SSE end of a second building (Braan93 345) as roofed, while the third building (Braan93 346) is shown as unroofed. By the 2nd edition of the OS 6-inch map (Perthshire 1900, sheet lxi) only the ENE half of the largest building (Braan93 344) is roofed. A well in the courtyard is also shown on both the 1st and 2nd edition maps (ibid).
The building (Braan93 347) on the NNW side of the military road measures 9.6m by 4m within a grassy bank spread to 1.4m in thickness and 0.3m in height. An outshot extends for 6.1m from the ENE end and what may be the remains of a turf-banked enclosure are visible in the rough, disturbed ground to the NNW. The building which is not shown on either the 1st or 2nd edition maps, has a different character to those forming the courtyard, and may be earlier than the rest of the steading.
