OS 6" map (1957)

The remains of a scooped enclosure are situated at the top of the high bank overlooking Burnfoot House from the N. It measures about 200ft in diameter, surrounded by a broad rampart rising 5ft or 6ft above the level of the interior. Much of the area is under crop, the periphery is destroyed in places, and a cottage stands within it.

This settlement comprises a ploughed down, horseshoe-shaped bank up to 1.2m high internally and 0.6m high externally which lies on the edge of steep, natural slopes. The interior, which has been scooped into the hillslope, is level and featureless and is partly covered by the cottage and garden.

Surveyed at 1/2500.
