NY39SW 1 3082 9040.

NY 308 904. A settlement, similar to but not as well preserved as that at Boonies (NY39SW 4), is situated above Todholes.

G Jobey 1975

NY 3082 9040. This sub-oval settlement lies on a level shelf of a steep south-facing hillslope at 137m OD. The bank, which encloses an area of approximately 36.0m by 25.0m, is up to 0.9m high externally and 1.0m high internally; the N and E quadrants have been mutilated, probably by quarrying. There is no evidence of an outer ditch and the entrance is on the NW side. The interior, which has been slightly scooped into the hillslope, is fairly level and has some earthfast boulders protruding in places but there are no obvious stances.

Surveyed at 1/2500.

Visited by OS (MJF), 19 September 1979.
