Thomas Chingles. or Jingles, Tower stood near Glendivan (NY 372 908) in 1590.

J and R Hyslop 1912

There is no evidence or tradition of a tower near Glendivan (NY39SE 64), which is a farmhouse of entirely 19th century construction. Dr M Robson of Wilton Lodge Museum doubts the existence of a stronghouse in this locality, and suggests the name relates to Liddesdale and not the Ewes Valley.
