(Location amended to NX c. 888 752). The previous discovery of 'Part of a prehistoric canoe, dug out of a field' on the farm of Arnmannoch (formerly Armannoch) is mentioned in an account of 1901. The remains were possibly used as the cover of a well.

Arnmannoch farm is situated at an altitude of about 85m OD in an area where there is much drained land.
