OS 6"map, (1957).

There is a cairn on the top of the hill half a mile NE of Whiteside, in Piersknowe Plantation. It is of earth, 57ft in diameter and 7ft in height.

J H Craw 1923.

NT 7217 4726. A grass-covered cairn, 18.0m in diameter and 1.0m high, with a considerable stone content beneath the surface.

Surveyed at 1:2500.

Visited by OS(JP) 20 August 1970.

Listed as 'a large mound, probably a barrow'.

RCAHMS 1980, visited 1979.
