OS 6" map (1909)

This old mill was formerly used by the monks of nearby Dryburgh Abbey (NT53SE 2) for grinding their corn.

Name Book 1857

The reconstructed remains of an ancient mill. In the gable facing the river is a fine cupped quatrefoil window similar to that in the S wall of the N transept of the Abbey.

RCAHMS 1915, visited 1908

A modern rectangular building. There are two quatrefoil windows, one in the S wall and the other in the E Wall, both overlooking the river and both foreign to the general architectural appearance.
