NT58NW 10 c. 547 850.

Two cists were found on Abbey Farm (name NT 5470 8502 on OS 6" 1908) in 1848 when constructing the railway line. Each contained an inhumation accompanied by a green-glazed urn of rough grey ware; one, which survived, was 6 ins in height. One cist also contained a much corroded iron sword and dagger; the skull from this cist was donated to the National Museum of Antiquities of Scotland [NMAS] by Wilson (Accession no: ET 18).
