Slight remains of a rougly oval earthwork, consisting of a single bank and external ditch and measuring internally about 250ft from E to W by 170ft transversely, can be seen on a gentle slope 1500 yds ESE of Oakwood, at a height of 770ft OD. Although on the E half, the bank and ditch have been levelled by cultivation, the former appears as a faint crop mark on air photographs (RAF 106G.Scot.UK 86:3437-8).

At the W end, where it is best preserved, the bank is composed of heaped earth and small stones and measures 15ft in thickness and up to 3 1/2 ft in height. Slight traces of the ditch appear on the N side, but its original width is uncertain. The entrance and any internal structures have been obliterated by cultivation.

Generally as described. A break in the bank in the middle of the W side may be an entrance, or a modern break for access to a gate in the nearby fence.
