(NT 5353 0803 - NT 5372 0839) Entrenchment (NAT)

OS 6" map (1923)

This earthwork, which extends for some 330 yds along the NW face of Stonedge Hill, is simply an agricultural boundary.

RCAHMS 1956, visited 1946

This linear earthwork which extends for 330 m is now obscured by a forestry plantation. It comprises a ditch 4.0m to 5.0m wide and 0.9m in average depth; an upcast bank 4.0m wide has been formed on the lower (NW) side. The feature is probably as defined by the RCAHMS, an agricultural boundary.

Surveyed at 1:10,000.

Visited by OS (JB) 29 November 1979
