NS 0258 8057. The curvilinear ditched cropmark visible on air photographs (RCAHMS WL 1417-18, flown 1976) is almost certainly linked with the copse which formerly stood here (OS 25"map, county series).

The cropmarks of pits behind the ditch (evident on the RCAHMS air photographs) were caused when the tree stumps were removed circa 1955 (see RAF air photographs 58/RAF/1713: 0044/5; flown 13 April 1955.)

No surface trace. The siting falls on the crest of gentle N-facing slope under plough at c45m OD.

Visited by OS (J R L) 25 February 1980.

Additional aerial photographs taken in 1979.

Area visible on RCAHMS air photographs WL 2007-11
