(NT 0098 8151) Cowdenhill House (NAT)

OS 25" map, Linlithgowshire, (1881)

Cowdehill House, dated 1676, was reconstructed in the 18th. century. Traditional. Rubble-walled, several windows filled in. Classical doorway, with an inset above it on the 2nd floor, inscribed 1676 AL. 19th century 1-storey gabled wing to W. Old window lintel inscribed 16 TF AB 47. Cowdenhill was formerly a hamlet between Grangepans and Bridgeness.

SDD 1960-.

Cowdenhill House has been demolished, its site now being occupied by a community centre.
