On a low rocky knoll which rises some 10ft above the general level of the hillside, there are some slight remains of an oval enclosure which was bounded by a single palisade. Originally the enclosure probably measured about 215ft in length by 150ft in breadth, but almost the entire N half of the palisade trench, including the entrance, has been obscured by former cultivation. In the S half, how ever, the trench appears on the surface as a shallow groove about 2ft in width. The interior still exhibits several slight hollows and scarps, and, although no precise shapes can be recognised among these, it is probable that they represent the last vestiges of the surface traces of timber houses.
