(NS 8016 7570) A short length of stone kerbing, reminiscent of Roman work, is visible outside the E side of the garden wall of Crow bank farm. The site, within view of Castlecary fort, may have been a signal station.

J M Davidson 1952

Dr K A Steer (RCAHMS), who adds that Mr Davidson now retracts the above statement, agrees that this is not a Roman feature, the kerbing, 2.5m long with a similar stretch at right angles, within the garden enclosure, being the foundations of an old dyke.
