(NS 8109 8898) An old dovecot, now ruinous, stands 250 yds NE of Bannockburn House. It measures 18' square overall, and is built in rubble masonry. The date 1698 is incised in the lintel above the doorway, in the S wall. Above the lintel is a stone dated 1768. There are indications that the dovecot has been reconstructed in part, perhaps in 1768, and it also incorporates a number of carved stones of 17th century date which are in secondary use.
