(NS 7573 5100) Dovecot (NR)

OS 6" map (1898)

The old mansion of Raploch stood near the present farmhouse, at the place where a coal pit is sunk. The only remains of this ancient mansion are the Dovecot and a very old yew tree about 200 links north of the dovecot. The dovecot is about three storeys high and the lower story has 'arched roofs'.

Name Book 1858.

No trace remains of this dovecot, the site of which is in a housing estate. No additional information was encountered relating to it or old Raploch House.
