NS53NW 5 52 35.

There are the remains of a circular "Druidical temple", about 60ft in diameter, on top of Molmount Hill. A great part of the circle has of late been destroyed and the stones taken away.

OSA 1792

Part of a cairn on Molmont Hill was removed before 1810 and at that date bones were found on the top of the hill. About 1895 a stone circle 60ft in diameter remained there.

J Smith 1895

Molmont Hill is the name given to the high ground N and E of Burn Anne (NS 52 35) (NSA 1845, R Stirling). The OSA and Smith are probably referring to the removal of material from the cairn described on NS53NW 3, the 'stone circle'mentioned by Smith being the kerb of the cairn.

The name 'Molmont Hill is apparently unknown today, and general enquiry in the locality produced no alternative siting to that deduced by OS (JLD). This is possibly a duplicate of NS53NW 3 (name not in ONB).
