J Smith 1895

A large standing stone, broader at the top than at the base, 1.4m high, as described by Smith.

Visited by OS (JD) 7 December 1955

The weatered stone is unmarked and as previously described. According to local historian Mr J Gray Snr (4 Culzean Rd, Maybole), its local name is 'Lyonston' - from which the nearby farm took its name.
