(NR 6421 5040) Crois na Lice Leithe (NAT)

'A small triangular-shaped stone about 2 feet in length standing on its sharpest point betweeen two smaller ones, and having on its top, the figure of a sword cut out and something like a date or initials, but quite illegible. It was sunk in the ground level with the surface, until a few years ago when A MacMillan dug it up. Tradition says it was put there as being the centre between the north and south points of the island, by whom or when cannot now be ascertained.'

The small triangular stone Crois na Lice Lithe, was probably in the last instance a boundary stone set between Ardachadh and Ardailly. On the top edge there was cut a dart or arrow with direction letters at either end. On the front when seen in 1927, there were marks in low relief which might have been the arms of a cross.

There is no trace of this stone. The name, Crois na Lice Leithe, is known locally, but no information was found regarding its present whereabouts.
