SILVER CIST: (Cist found here): 'A Cist, or stone coffin is to be seen here about one foot square and nearly level with the surface. It is known as the Silver Kist, or Cist, from which it is believed that silver coins were found in it: It is not known, when it was discovered, or what it contained.

(This entry is deleted, and noted as "not to be written on Plan". A location is not given, but it is probably in the vicinity of Polston - NO 8626 9795)

Name Book 1864.

Enquiries at Polston farm failed to obtain any information regarding this cist or the coin hoard.
