The supposed site of St Ninian's Chapel the exact site of which could not be indicated in 1859 (Name Book 1859) although it was known to have stood in this area; and the ends of several stone coffins were exposed when a road was driven through its burial ground towards the end of the 18th century (OSA 1794). It was consecrated in 1485.
St Ninian's Well was only a small hollow scooped out of rock but it had a reputation for curing various diseases.

No trace of St Ninian's Chapel or burial ground.
St Ninian's Well now consists of a metal pipe protruding from a rectangular stone slab which is set vertically into the slope of a grassy bank, and which bears the inscription 'St Ninian's Well'. There is still a slight flow of water from the pipe but the main flow has probably been directed to the 'Wishing Well' at NO 6588 4115.
