NO59SE 7 centred 592 911

NO 594 913. Two hut circles 60m apart; another lies at NO 592 914. Stone clearance heaps are in the vicinity of all three huts.

I Ralston 1977.

The three hut circles form a settlement centred on NO 592 911, among undulating ground. The huts are of similar shape and form; all are oval and range in size from 10.0m by 9.0m to 8.0m by 7.0m internally. The turf-covered walls with stone protruding are spread to about 2.0m wide and 0.3m high. The longer axis of the huts lies E-W, with entrances in the E. Field clearance heaps covering about a hectare surround the western hut at NO 5904 9113. Stone has been added to the heaps in more recent times. No plots are visible. A small scatter of clearance heaps lies in the immediate vicinity of the two other huts.

Surveyed at 1:2500.

Visited by OS (J B) 27 April 1978.
