(Area NO 5000 1652) A cinerary urn found in the garden of Westerlee on the western outskirts of St Andrews about 40 years ago (c.1885) was presented to the museum of the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland, by D H Fleming in 1925. In its form and in its being decorated on the lower part, the urn resembles a food-vessel, but from its size and the quality of the ware it seems to fall into the cinerary type. The ware is red on the exterior and black inside.
