Anstruther Place: In 1663, Sir Philip Anstruther decided to built for himself a more suitable habitation than Dreel Castle (NO50SE 9). The contract for building the house was made with Alexander Nesbit and provided for four storeys, 76' x 24' within the walls, which were to be 4' thick. A dovecot, stable, brewhouse and bakehouse were also to be built.
The mansion was razed in 1811 and the site is now occupied by the Clydesdale Bank buildings.

NO 5650 0365. The Clydesdale Bank is an undated Victorian building overlooking the town. There is no evidence of an earlier house or outbuildings.
