NO35NW 13 3004 5567 and 3011 5567.

Centred NO 301 557. Two probable hut circles and a circlar setting of stones.

Surveyed at 1:2500.

Visited by OS (AA) 27 November 1967.

At NO 3004 5567 and NO 3011 5567 are two circular stone-walled huts set into the SE slopes of Brankham Hill amongst cultivation associated with later depopulated buildings. They measure about 11.0m in diameter between wall centres, with no trace of entrances. No comtemporary cultivation is evident.

At NO 3011 5574, prominently situated on a steepening slope above the huts, is a setting of seven earthfast stones on edge, forming two-thirds of a circle 1.9m in diameter. The largest stone in the SW arc (0.6m high), and three others, are displaced outwards; the enclosed area is turf-covered with a stony content 0.1m high. The setting appears to occupy a levelled area in the hillside.

But for its size, this feature would probably be classified as a burial cairn.

Cairn now NO35NW 38.

Visited by OS (NKB) 11 November 1975.
