(NO 1082 7025) Standing Stone {NR}.

OS 6" map, Perthshire, 2nd ed. (1900)

A stone 5ft. high and less than 2ft. wide having two small semicircular pieces, an inch or two deep, cut out of each side, about 3ft. from the ground, as if to keep a rope or chain in position.

An excavation at the foot of the stone on the east side, in 1894, revealed nothing but that the knoll on which the stone stands was composed of pure sand and gravel.

W M Smith 1895

As described by Smith. The knoll on which the stone stands is natural.
