NO01NE 17 0714 1695.

(NO 0714 1695.) A cairn 45ft diameter and 5 1/2ft high occupies the position of the triangulation point in Jackschairs Wood (information in telephone call from RCAHMS to OS, 14 September 1965) marked on the county series 6" maps, 200 yards east of Jackschairs.

A turf-covered cairn as described above. Good condition.

Surveyed at 1/2500.

Visited by OS (J T T) 2 November 1965.

The remains of this grass-grown cairn are situated at the wooded W end of a ridge, some 200m NE of Netherholm steading (NO01NE 88). The cairn measures about 14m in diameter by about 1.2m in height and is surmounted by an Ordnance Survey triangulation cairn which measures about 2.5m in diameter and 0.3m in height.
