NN 838 323: Cairn base 18m x 17.70m with remains of peristalith, at Conichan.

This site lies at a distance of 51.70m from NN83SW 7.

M E C Stewart 1973

Apart from NN83SW 7 no other cairn was found in this area. It seems probable that Mrs Stewart is referring to a stony area measuring 18.0m x 15.0m at NN 8389 3231. This is almost certainly field clearance associated with the surrounding 18th - 19th century enclosures (see NN83SW 9). There is no sign of a peristalith.

Visited by OS (JP), 9 October 1975.
