NN64NW 5 6243 4777.
(NN 627 477) A big recumbent boulder with a few cup marks on it lies by the side of the road next to the river at Craigianie; near it are some upright stones which almost suggest a miniature stone circle.

Some 127 paces farther up the road from NN64NW 4 (going from E to W), on the right hand side is a rough flat stone with a deep hole in it.
There, according to tradition, Eonan (Adamnan) fixed his crucifix when he stayed the plague.

NN 6243 4777. There are two depressions on the upper surface of this boulder, both of which appear natural. One is 15cm in diameter and irregular in shape. The other is 8cm by 6cm. This is possibly the socket stone mentioned by Barnett, but this tradition is not known locally.
The "miniature stone circle" mentioned by Stewart is the remains of a denuded wall extending from the road to the river (Scots Mag, June 1979).
