NM91SE 6 9740 1457.

(NM 9740 1457) Homestead (NR).

On a fairly level shelf which projects from the face of the hill above Kames Bay there are the wasted remains of a roughly circular enclosure measuring approx 15 metres in diameter within a greatly reduced stone wall. This wall is now represented on the south by a grass-grown stony scarp, 0.9 metres in height, at the foot of which several outer facing stones have survived in situ, but elsewhere, only a low bank of spread core material is visible, not more than 2 metres in thickness. The entrance was probably on the NW arc, where almost all the stones of the wall have been removed, presumably to provide metalling for the adjacent road from Kilchrenan to Dalavich.

RCAHMS 1975.

As described. This is a homestead similar to NM91SE 8 (cf NW44SE 7). Visited by OS (WDJ) 21 October 1969.

Surveyed at 1:10,000.
