(NM 2873 2497) A linear cropmark with a square northern terminal enclosure is visible on air photographs. (This may have some connection with the "Old Terraced Road and Raised Beach" noted by Crawford). Information from the 15th Annual Report of the Ancient Monuments Board for England, Scotland and Wales, 1968, 12, plan.

Nothing is visible on the ground.

Visited by OS (RD) 9 June 1972

In August 1993 a section was taken across the southern end of the cropmark (see NM22SE 52). This indicated its origin in a system of ditches associated with former stripfield cultivation.

(MS/725/31, GUARD 116; MS/725/39, GUARD 116.2)

Site recorded by AOC (Scotland) Ltd during an archaeological survey of the lands controlled by the National Trust for Scotland on Iona. This survey was conducted in late May and early April of 1996. The full report of this survey has been deposited with both the local SMR and the NMRS.
