NJ96SW 2 9429 6453.

NJ 9430 6457 A short cist was found in September 1941 by Mr Robert Simpson (information from Private 6" map NMAS nd) whilst digging shingle in a gravelly knowe about a quarter-mile south of Boghead Farm. It contained an urn 6 3/8" high, but no skeletal remains. The urn is in the National Museum of Antiquities of Scotland (NMAS), presented through Dr W D Simpson, who also gave particulars of the find.

The findspot of the cist, at NJ 9429 6453, was pointed out by Mr Simpson (Mr J W Simpson, Boghead, by Rosehearty) who was present at the discovery. No trace of the cist remains.

Surveyed at 1/2500.
