Drum's Cairn marks the burial-place, or the spot where he fell, of Sir Alexander Irvine, who was killed on the 24th of July, 1411, at the Battle of Harlaw (NJ72SE 6.00).

The area in the vicinity of the OS siting is strewn with stones from field clearance and there are no certain remains of a cairn.

Nothing is visible of this cairn, which stood at the edge of what is now a cultivated field about 600m W of West Balhalgardy Cottages (NJ72SE 146.01). It is said to have marked either the site of where Sir Alexander Irvine died after the battle of Harlaw in 1411 or the spot where he originally fell.
The event was further commemorated by the building of the Harlaw Monument (NJ72SE 6.01) in the early 20th century, about 30m SE of the site of the cairn.
