OS 6" map, Aberdeenshire, 2nd ed., (1928)

Three urns were found in the field south of Coldwells. The larger urn contained ashes and the two smaller urns, human bones. The urns were broken at the time of discovery and the fragments gradually dispersed.

Name Book 1866.

No recent finds and no surface indications of a cairn were found in a ploughed field.

Visited by OS (NKB) 9 March 1964.

The present whereabouts of these three urns, which were found in a cultivated field about 80m SW of Coldwells Cottages in the early 19th century, are not known.

Visited by RCAHMS (JRS, IF), 7 March 1996.
