The 'Battle Field' is an area of uncultivated land between Kintore Railway Station and the Hangman's Croft.

'There is no history on record, or reliable information to be obtained......about the name 'Battle Field'...... further than the name which is well-known... in the town.'

Name Book 1867.

The name 'Battle Field' is still used locally to describe the area between the railway station and Loch Burn, but no information was obtained regarding the origin of the name.

Visited by OS (NKB) 17 March 1964.

There is no change to the existing record.
