(NJ 7903 1636) Lady's Well (NR)

OS 6" map, (1938)

The Lady Well would appear to have been anciently Church property, and was the well said to be dedicated along with the parish to the Virgin Mary.

A Watt 1864.

This feature is a stone-lined spring, in fairly good condition.

OS Reviser (A E Williams) 9 December 1955.

The well is situated on land owned by the Church at Kintore, which is dedicated to the Virgin Mary, our Lady. The minister at the church suggests that Lady's Well was dedicated at the same time as the church in 1819. It has been almost completely filled by rubbish to within 1.0m of the top.

Visited by OS (NKB) 17 March 1964.

This well is now little more than a hollow beside the footpath.

NMRS, MS/712/67.
