NJ36SW 11 3055 6393.

The trench of a fort is said to exist on a piece of rising ground 'wooded in 1851' about 1 1/2 miles east of Urquhart churchyard (NJ 284 632 or 288 626).

A possible site, visible on air photographs (Visible on RAF air photographs, F 22 82/RAF/955: 0096-7: flown 13 July 1954) seems to be at NJ 3055 6393

H B Mackintosh 1924.

Above area (NJ 3055 6393) has recently been cleared and replanted with conifers. Nothing seen on ground and not known locally. But if Mackintosh's location is changed to read 'west' instead of 'east' the site may be the earthwork on Castle Hill (NJ26SE 5)

Visited by OS (I S S) 19 January 1972.
