OS 6" map, Ross-shire, 2nd ed., (1907).

The rather indefinite remains of a chapel exist at Ballone, near Ballone Castle (NH98SW 1), but on the shore-level, one third of a mile NE of the village of Rockfield (Davidson 1948). The chapel was known as Teampall-Earach and a well nearby was named Tobar Mhuire or Mary's Well (OPS 1855).

There is one tombstone on the graveyard site bearing the date 1682 (Ordnance Survey Name Book [ONB] 1872).

Statistical Account (OSA) 1793; Orig Paroch Scot 1855; Name Book 1872; J M Davidson 1948.

No trace of the chapel, graveyard or well. The gravestone, now split into two pieces, lies at NH 9267 8342.

Visited by OS (I S S), 8 September 1972.

Grave slab found, 1628 date. Much small stone lying around, none in-situ structure. Possible storm beach. No other features. c. 100m to NE possible wall, grass grown and several stone mounds nearby.
