(Area: NH 817 963) Tumuli (NR)

OS 6" map, Sutherland, 2nd ed., (1907)

Tumuli: 'About 1/2 mile SE of Loch Unes there are several tumuli which are very well defined on the ground by their being covered with very green grass."

Name Book 1873.

In this area there are about half a dozen large, grass-covered sandy mounds. They appear to be natural mounds with nothing to suggest 'cairns'.

Visited by OS (W D J) 2 May 1964.

Sand dunes. No change to previous report

Visitedby OS (R L) 10 November 1969.
