NH67NE 7 69 75.

Close to the Ceann Righ or King's Head Cairn, the foundation of a large castle or building can be traced. The building is said to have been the old mansion house of the property.

New Statistical Account (NSA) 1845; J Noble 1909.

No trace of a castle or mansion could be found in the area, which is now occupied by a dense birch wood.

The depopulation remains behind the croft at NH 700 752 may have led to the above reports, though there is no evidence of there having been a substantial building there.

Visited by OS (R D L) 13 May 1963.
