NH64SE 6 6542 4346.

(Area NH 6542 4346) There is a very large cairn near the river at the foot of a hill called Torvean, and close to where the silver chain (NH64SE 14) was found. Some years ago it was partly removed and a coffin found composed of six thick flags. This is supposed to be the dormitory of Bean, a saint of the Culdee order.

Statistical Account (OSA) 1793; New Statistical Account (NSA, A Rose, A Clark, R Macpherson) 1845; J A Smith 1875.

No trace of this cairn was found during field perambulation.

Visited by OS (W D J) 31 March 1960.
