(NH 6833 3515) 'On the hillock in the trees midway between Gask burn and cross roads is a burial, and perhaps the

road went through one.'

Information from Major C J Shaw 5 Feburary 1962.

NH 6838 3516 No trace of any burial was noticed on this hillock. At the east edge of the hillock there is a circular hollow c. 6.0m. in diameter by c. 1.0m. deep with some large stones on its west edge but it suggests surface quarrying rather than a 'burial' or cairn. The road cuts through the west end of the hillock and there are several large boulders scattered along both sides of the cuttings, but these are probably the remains of a boulder wall which formerly bounded either side of the road. On the other side of the road there are stone clearance heaps in the clumps of trees.

Visited by OS (W D J) 4 September 1963.
