NG24NE 2 c. 25 47.

Urns were dug up about 4 years ago (c. 1837) in an old burial place near the site of the parish church. They were composed of a very coarse reddish clay, but have several rude ornaments upon them, or rather are notched and scolloped throughout. One of them is in the possession of Macleod of Macleod. Another is believed to be in the Glasgow Hunterian Museum. All the rest were broken into pieces by the excavator who was preparing the ground for potato sowing.

NSA 1845.

Enquires at Dunvegan Castle revealed no knowledge of the urn in the possession of Macleod of Macleod
