NF74SE 5 7564 4096.

(NF 7564 4096) A sub-rectangular Viking House. 50ft by 20ft was excavated for the Ministry of Works at Drimore, South Uist. It was defined by a single course of boulders and contained a long central hearth. Finds included a decorated bone comb, steatite spindle whorls and vessels, and pins and other objects of bone and ivory.

A Maclaren 1956, Informatiom from MoPBW to OS.

No trace of the house remains except for part of the NW angle, defined by a line of small stones at the west end of the elongated hollow, left by the excavation.

Surveyed at 1:2500.
